I spent my 4 year 2 months birthday at home yesterday as godpa was working. He says he'll be bringing me out next week for a nice haircut and maybe drop by the clubpets Carnival@D'Kranji Farm Resort.
Poor godpa had been busy preparing for his company staff event at the Singapore Turf Club. Now that it's over, he feels relieved the event went well and colleagues had great fun. I still bug him to bring me to see the big four legged horses, I promise I won't hump them.
Now there seems to be some shopping promotion called the Great Singapore Sale. I wonder if doggy toys, chews, and treats are on sale too. Godpa's still looking for a nice scarf for me, though I think it's better to just tie a piece of colourful cloth around me. A new shopping centre, Iluma just opened in the Bugis area, godpa says it's big and spacious but unfortunately no big pet shops like the one he saw in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
I wanted to please godpa by dressing up in pink. Unfortunately the collar was a bit tight coz my fur's getting thick so I look a bit glum. Godpa tells me pink is a blend of white and red and therefore it's a national colour of Singapore.
Of course I'm also supporting the freedom to love. Where there is ignorance it breeds fear and makes love more challenging. This happens to dogs who are always misunderstood so I can empathise with humans who get rejected because they're misunderstood.
Today is when humans celebrate mothers' day. For me as a spinster bitch I won't have much to celebrate. Furthermore, godpa doesn't know where my mummy is or how she looks like so I've no chance to meet her.
Gender is not really important, having godpa is like having both a father and mother. On thundery nights I tap on his bedroom door and he lets me in so I can feel safe. I see poor godpa yawning lots in the day because of me. Being a dog with no possessions in life, I can only offer cuddles and licks.
For those who've not seen how a chinchilla plays, godpa took a short video of my godbro Rocky running around in the bedroom.
I get rather excited whenever I see him hopping about in his cage house so Godpa doesn't allow me to play with him in the open.
I guess it didn't help either when godpa found a dismembered cricket in the living room one morning proving that I treat all small lively creatures as chew toy.
Godpa went out last weekend and came across a great performance of ancient Gamelan music by a Balinese troupe from the Mekar Bhuana Conservatory. It was a rare opportunity to be enchanted by sacred music played in Balinese Hindu temples and the prestigious courts of Javanese rulers. Godpa said it was soothing and yet lively to watch the performers deftly hammering away in a flowing rhythm with crescendos and diminuendos. Amazingly they played for about 45 minutes and didn't refer to any music scores.
All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all.
Man or woman, human or dog; Love has conquered all.
I'm a Miniature Schnauzer crossbreed. I'm not sure of my parentage though as my owners abandoned me and I was found wandering around the Seletar farm area in March 2008. My godpa is Lawrence. I also have an uncle Leon who dotes on me. I'm told my age is about 3 yrs at the time godpa adopted me on 29 Mar 2008 (godpa had to lie about my age to get a blog setup *shhh*)
